The IOT subcommittee advised that the IOT State of Emergency ENDED on 13th August 2022

The details below may no longer be relevant to travel to the IOT, however restrictions may change in future.

Many restrictions have changed including the removal of the requirement to be vaccinated and to also isolate if testing positive to COVID 19.

Prior to travel please check for any updates that may affect your travel to Christmas Island.

In June 2021 the  health service on Christmas Island began vaccinating the community.

Currently over 96% of the eligible population has been vaccinated.

Christmas Island, Australia remained covid free until March 2022, when sadly it reported it's first case of Covid-19. 500 members of the community have tested positive to the virus, however none have required hospitalisation.
